If, with the busy wedding season approaching, you’re considering making your own wedding cake or one for friends or family then we’ve got essential courses this summer to help you design and make the perfect creation.
Add a twist to the traditional bride and groom figurines and bring any cake to life with a pair of ballroom dancers on the Extended Skill Development in Modelling course on 4th and 5th July. Over two days you will make a variety of figures including ballroom dancers, learning different positions for limbs to represent movement and complex facial expressions that you can adapt for different figures in your own modelling style.
Cupcakes and mini cakes are still a massive wedding trend and Ann Skipp will help you develop your cupcake skills with contemporary ideas with Summer Wedding Cupcakes on 26th July. Not only will you bake beautifully light sponges but you will also top them with fondants, fruits and flowers and discover new ways to design and add decoration.
Add an elegant touch to the big day with a combination of exquisitely decorated Temari cakes and fresh flower displays with Temari Cakes and Fresh Flower Balls on 9th August. This course is a great opportunity to work with a cake decorating expert and a creative flower designer at the same time. You will learn all of the secrets behind preparing cakes and displaying them with beautiful fresh flowers.
Learn how to create a beautiful flower arrangement in sugar, suitable to adorn the most impressive wedding cakes with the two-day project course, Romantic Bouquet: Gardenias and Madagascar Jasmine on 12th and 13th August. Come and learn how to create a romantic bouquet of wired gardenias and Madagascar jasmine with talented, contemporary sugar florist Susanna Righetto.
Join Ceri Griffiths on 29th–31st August for the three-day Contemporary Wedding Cake course. This intensive design course will teach you the skills you need to add a real wow-factor to your wedding cake. Ceri will introduce you to numerous decorating techniques, skills and sources of inspiration and will then assist you in designing and creating your own unique tiered wedding cake.
